mlti.ai Teach Chrome Extension

Last updated: February 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how mlti.ai (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the mlti.ai Teach Chrome Extension (“the Extension”). This policy applies specifically to the Extension and the data it handles.

By installing and using the Extension, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the Extension.

2. What the Extension Does

The mlti.ai Teach Extension records your browser activity during explicit teaching sessions to help generate workflow automation playbooks. The Extension only captures data when you actively start a recording session. It does not monitor, track, or collect any data outside of these user-initiated sessions.

3. Data We Collect

During an active recording session, the Extension collects the following types of browser interaction data:

  • Page navigation and URLs — the web addresses you visit during the recording session
  • Tab switches — when you switch between browser tabs
  • Click events — the element type, visible text, and CSS selector of elements you click on
  • Form interactions — field names, labels, and values you enter into form fields. Passwords are always masked (recorded as “••••••••”) and never captured in plain text.
  • Copy and paste content — text you copy or paste, truncated to a maximum of 1,000 characters
  • Significant UI changes — the appearance of modals, dialogs, and similar interface elements

Data We Do Not Collect

The Extension does not:

  • Take screenshots or record your screen
  • Log keystrokes (there is no keylogger)
  • Collect any browsing data outside of active recording sessions
  • Collect personal information beyond what appears in the browser interactions you record
  • Use any analytics or tracking SDKs

4. How We Use Your Data

The browser interaction data collected during recording sessions is used solely to:

  • Generate workflow automation playbooks that describe the processes you taught
  • Provide you with tools to review, edit, and refine those playbooks
  • Enable the automation of the workflows you have taught the system

We do not use your recorded data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the mlti.ai service you are using.

5. How Data Is Stored and Transmitted

Local Storage

Recorded events are temporarily buffered in chrome.storage.session, which is an in-memory storage area that is automatically cleared when you close your browser. No recorded event data is persisted to your local disk.

Session authentication tokens are also stored in chrome.storage.session only and are never written to persistent local storage.

A single user preference (API base URL) is stored in chrome.storage.sync for convenience across devices.

Data Transmission

Buffered events are transmitted to mlti.ai servers approximately every 2 seconds during an active recording session. Data is sent over HTTPS to ensure encryption in transit.

Server-Side Storage

Once transmitted, your recorded session data is stored securely on mlti.ai servers. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data at rest, including encrypted databases and access-controlled infrastructure.

6. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your recorded data with any third parties. Your data is sent only to your own mlti.ai account. No data is transmitted to third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or data brokers.

We may use third-party infrastructure providers (such as cloud hosting and database services) to operate the mlti.ai service. These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it.

7. Permissions

The Extension requests the following browser permissions, each for a specific purpose:

  • storage — to temporarily buffer recorded events and store your session token
  • tabs — to detect tab switches and identify the pages you are working on during a recording session
  • webNavigation — to track page navigation events during recording
  • alarms — to schedule periodic flushing of buffered events to our servers
  • sidePanel — to provide the recording controls and session interface
  • host permissions (all URLs) — required to capture interaction events on any web page you choose to record. This permission is only exercised during active recording sessions.

8. Data Retention

Locally buffered data is held only in session memory and is cleared automatically when you close your browser or end a recording session.

Server-side data associated with your teaching sessions is retained as long as your mlti.ai account is active and you have not deleted the associated playbooks or sessions. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 9).

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data — view the teaching sessions and playbooks associated with your account through the mlti.ai dashboard
  • Delete your data — delete individual teaching sessions or playbooks, or request complete deletion of all data associated with your account
  • Stop collection — stop recording at any time by clicking the stop button in the Extension, or uninstall the Extension entirely
  • Data portability — request an export of your data by contacting us

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@mlti.ai.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Extension is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data through the Extension, please contact us at privacy@mlti.ai and we will take steps to delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
